Real estate in Montenegro is an unobvious but promising choice for an investor who wants to buy a home on the Mediterranean. At least because the costs of utilities and taxes are significantly lower than in many European countries. In particular, in 2023, the first part of the Bar-Boljare highway was launched on the Smokovac Matesevo section, which significantly reduced the travel time from the Montenegrin coast to the Kolasin ski resort.

And at the end of 2024, it became known that Montenegro received a tranche from the EU in the amount of 600 million euros for the construction of the second section of the Mateševo-Andrijevica motorway, which should be completed by 2027. Thus, traveling by car from other European countries to Montenegro will become easier, faster, more convenient.

How to choose and buy real estate in Montenegro

Note that a foreigner can buy real estate in Montenegro without any significant restrictions on ownership and management of the property. At the same time, almost all premium real estate on the Montenegrin market is located with a view of the water and in close proximity to the sea.
